The Rise of African Music
The rise of African music in the global scene and why it's gaining momentum.

Hey Friend,
When I was a kid, African music greatness was always on the radio. I remember my mom asking me to turn up the volume when songs like Brenda Fassie's 'Vuli Ndlela' came on. Or when Monique Seka's 'Missounwa' played, and everyone sang along. And who could forget 'Zangalewa,' the tune that Shakira famously 'borrowed'? Those were the days when the airwaves were dominant with vibrant soul and beat of mother Africa.
I remember being glued to the screen during my first viewing of Sarafina! The raw energy of the performances, the sweat-drenched dances, all set against the poignant struggle for freedom that echoed through every note reminiscent with every African.
