A Hidden Gem in Rudawy Janowickie

Sokoliki is a popular destination within the picturesque region of Rudawy Janowickie, renowned for its impressive rock formations and relatively easy hikes. This area attracts rock climbing enthusiasts from all over the world who come to test their skills on these unique geological structures.

The region boasts numerous rock formations, many of which are known primarily to seasoned climbers. However, the most famous of these formations are Sokoliki Mały and Duży, located near the summit. The higher, western rock, Sokolik Duży, is particularly notable for its historic viewing platform.

Construction of the platform began in 1885 to enhance accessibility for tourists. Several dozen steps were carved into the rock during this period. Over time, the wooden steps and railings were replaced with metal ones, which have survived to this day. Few people know that Sokolik Duży was originally connected to Sokolik Mały by a footbridge, which was dismantled after World War II.

Visitors to the platform are rewarded with breathtaking, unforgettable views of the Bóbr Valley, the Jelenia Góra Valley, the Karkonosze Mountains, and the Kaczawskie Mountains. The site offers beautiful 360-degree panoramas, and a viewing balcony with benches where you can rest and enjoy the scenery.

Sokoliki is a highly recommended hiking spot for a half-day adventure. Its trails are not demanding, making it an excellent choice for families, including children and grandparents. Whether you're an experienced climber or just looking for a beautiful place to hike, Sokoliki in Rudawy Janowickie offers something for everyone.
