TravelTuesday: A Weekend at Energylandia

Are you a fan of roller coasters, ice cream, and heart-pounding rides? Then you're going to love this tale! This weekend, a few friends and I decided to take a road trip down to southern Poland to visit the top-rated amusement park in Europe: Energylandia.

Energylandia Amusement Park, which opened its gates in 2014, has swiftly climbed the ranks to become the number one amusement park in Europe, thanks to its staggering collection of roller coasters—18 in total! Can you believe it?

Growing up in a country with zero roller coasters, visiting this park was like a childhood dream come true for me. Picture a kid in a candy store, and you'll get a sense of my excitement. Energylandia boasts the second and seventh tallest roller coasters in Europe: Hyperion and Zadra.

Let's talk about Hyperion first. This steel beast, crafted by the Swiss manufacturer Intamin, opened on July 14, 2018. It's themed around a fictional mission to Saturn's moon, Hyperion. Standing at a jaw-dropping height of 77 meters (253 feet) and reaching a top speed of 142 km/h (88 mph), Hyperion offers a thrilling ride with several hills and banked turns. Better than tallest (Red Force) coaster in Spain , Hyperion is here to steal the show. And yes, we rode it twice—worth every scream!

But my personal favorite was Zadra. This ride is an adrenaline junkie's dream. It rockets along at a maximum speed of 121 km/h (75 mph) and includes three inversions that will make your hair stand on end. The exhilarating twists and turns are pure, unadulterated fun. By the end of the day, most of us were delightfully dizzy and a little bit queasy, but oh-so-happy.

So, if you're looking for a weekend getaway that promises thrills, chills, and a whole lot of laughs, Energylandia should be at the top of your list. Trust me, it's a roller coaster ride you won't want to miss!
